TEAM PENSKE eSPORTS AND THE eNASCAR HEAT PRO LEAGUE

In 2019, Team Penske entered the ultra-competitive and rapidly-growing realm of esports. In its inaugural season of online racing, Team Penske joined the competition in the eNASCAR Heat Pro League (eNHPL).

The eNHPL was launched in 2019 following collaborative efforts from NASCAR, 704Games and the Race Team Alliance. The newly-formed esports league features 14 race teams and 28 drivers, each owned and operated by prominent NASCAR teams. All of the participating teams feature two drivers – one competing on Xbox One and the other on PlayStation 4.

The 12-race season, which took the green flag for its first race in May, brings competitors to 12 different racetracks across the NASCAR Heat 3 platform, culminating with a championship race during the 2019 NASCAR Playoffs. The eNHPL races are hosted every other Wednesday at 7:30 pm ET (see schedule below) and fans can follow all of the action on eNASCAR.com, along with the 704 Games’ Facebook and Twitch accounts.

At the eNHPL draft at ISM Raceway in March, Team Penske eSports selected Brian Tedeschi for the Xbox One console and Corey Rothgeb for PlayStation 4. Long-time Team Penske partner Shell-Pennzoil joined Team Penske eSports as the primary sponsor of both entries with Tedeschi racing the No. 22 Shell V-Power Ford Mustang and Rothgeb competing in the No. 2 Pennzoil Ford Mustang. During league races, Tedeschi carries the gamer tag @ShellVPower22 while Rothgeb races as @Pennzoil2.

The Team Penske eSports duo produced strong results immediately as @ShellVPower22 grabbed the win in the inaugural eNHPL race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) on Sunday, May 26, prior to the Coca-Cola 600, as all 28 eNHPL competitors descended on CMS for the season opener. Following the playoff-clinching Xbox One win, @Pennzoil2 scored a top-five finish in the PlayStation 4 race to put Team Penske eSports at the top of the point standings.

"I love NASCAR and gaming only builds upon my interest in the sport. I always said I wanted to be a part of a NASCAR team but never had the funding to race growing up. This league is my opportunity to make those dreams become a reality."
