THE NEWS AND NOTES

The No. 22 Hertz Ford Mustang

· A FORMER WINNER: Brad Keselowski is a former NASCAR Nationwide Series race winner at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Keselowski led 131 of 200 laps after starting from the pole in 2012, earning his first-career NNS win at the track. Keselowski has led 217 laps over the course of his last three starts at the track.

· LOOKING TO QUALIFY STRONG AGAIN: Keselowski has always qualified well at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in whatever he’s driven. He won the pole in the Nationwide Series three-straight years from 2010 to 2012.  He’s also earned two-career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series poles at the one-mile track, coming in 2010 and 2013.

· HERTZ IS BACK: The No. 22 Ford Mustang will feature the Hertz livery at NHMS for the second time this year. The Hertz Corporation, one of the worlds’ leading car rental and transportation companies, was the primary sponsor in Dover where Joey Logano brought the car home to a third-place finish. Hertz won five races in 2013 as the primary sponsor and won as a co-primary sponsor with Logano at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series earlier this season

· UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Keselowski is looking to close the deal this weekend after finishing a close second in the Nationwide Series race at Kentucky just two weeks ago. Keselowski led 138 laps, and looked to be on his way to an easy win if were it not for a speeding penalty. Coupled with Logano’s late race flat at Michigan while leading, Alex Tagliani’s fuel issues while on point at Road America and Logano’s near win at Talladega, the No. 22 Hertz Ford Mustang team is looking to turn their fortune around this weekend with Keselowski.

THE Q & A

BRAD KESELOWSKI, DRIVER NO. 22 HERTZ FORD

YOU HAVE ONE VICTORY AND FIVE TOP-THREE FINISHES IN FIVE NATIONWIDE STARTS THIS YEAR. WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS SERIES THAT SUITS YOUR STYLE?

“It all starts with the car, and Team Penske builds great Ford Mustangs. This No. 22 Hertz team has consistently provided me with cars that are capable of winning. The team does great on race day with Jeremy (Bullins) calling the strategy, and our pit crew is one of the best out there. When a driver has those assets and that support, all I have to do is drive, which is what I love to do.”

JEREMY BULLINS, CREW CHIEF, NO. 22 HERTZ FORD

THIS TEAM TRADITIONALLY WINS A LOT. THIS YEAR IT HAS ONLY ONE VICTORY. WHAT HAS CHANGED?

“Team Penske has built some really strong Nationwide Series cars in 2014 and I truly believe that even though we don't have the wins we had at this point in the season in 2013, our performance has arguably been better. A lot of things have to go right to win, and as strong as Brad is at Loudon, I feel like we have a great shot to get this Hertz Mustang to victory lane on Saturday.”
