Team Penske and Verizon Unveil New Design for 2024

February 26, 2024

One of the longest running partnerships in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES (NICS) will continue with a new look in 2024 as today, Verizon (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ) and Team Penske unveiled a new paint scheme for the No. 12 Verizon Business Chevrolet driven by two-time NICS Champion and 2018 Indianapolis 500 winner, Will Power.

Over the course of his 19-year career, Power has established himself as one of the most accomplished drivers in NICS history. The Toowoomba, Australia native has no equal when it comes to qualifying with 72 career NTT P1 Awards, passing Mario Andretti for the all-time INDYCAR record at the 2022 season-ending race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the same weekend he secured his second series title. Power’s 41 career victories place him alone in fifth place in the NICS annals, just one spot behind Michael Andretti for fourth place.

After joining Team Penske in 2009, Power has been able to truly show his immense talents behind the wheel of cars prepared by motorsports’ winningest organization. It was that same year that he joined forces with Verizon in what has become one of the enduring driver-sponsor partnerships in racing. Of Power’s 38 NICS victories while a member of Team Penske, 37 have come with Verizon colors adorning his winning car. Additionally, the technology, communications, information and entertainment provider has visited Victory Lane on three occasions with 2015 Indianapolis 500 winner, Juan Pablo Montoya, and twice with 2023 Indianapolis 500 winner, Josef Newgarden, during its tenuere as a Team Penske partner.

Among Power’s 64 pole positions with Team Penske, 63 have come with Verizon support, while Newgarden has captured two additional poles in Verizon colors.

This refreshed Verizon livery for 2024 may remind many INDYCAR fans of Power’s dominant run  from 2010-2015 when he scored 21 wins, 34 pole positions and 38 podium finishes in the No. 12 Verizon machine. During that period, he never finished lower than fourth in the series standings, including his first NICS championship performance in 2014.

“I really consider myself lucky to have been associated with Verizon for so many years,” said Power. “That kind of partnership longevity is pretty rare in this day and age of motorsports, particularly as a full-season sponsor. I’m forever grateful for, not only the success they've allowed us to have, but also for the friends I’ve made over the years at Verizon. I'm looking forward to getting them back to Victory Lane with this new Verizon Business scheme in 2024.”

The No. 12 Verizon Business Chevrolet will make its debut in the NICS season-opening race on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida at 12:00 pm ET on Sunday, March 10. The race will be televised live on NBC.
