Coca-Cola 600 Qualifying: Charlotte Motor Speedway
Concord, NC - May 25, 2024
The NASCAR Cup Series returns home to Charlotte Motor Speedway over Memorial Day Weekend for the longest race on the series' schedule. The 400-lap Coca-Cola 600 features four, even stages of 100 laps each as drivers vie to claim one of NASCAR's crown jewel races at the 1.5-mile oval.
Ryan Blaney: 16th
Austin Cindric: 17th
Joey Logano: 28th
HEAR FROM CINDRIC: "We made a lot of progress from practice. We really struggled off the truck and probably under drove my qualifying lap, so I'm a little frustrated with that. It's always high commitment at these mile-and-a-half tracks. I thought I had a little bit better and maybe enough to squeak into the final round, but we've got some work to do for 600 miles tomorrow and I think it's probably in our favor that the race ends at night."
RETURNING TO CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY: Ryan Blaney snapped a 59-race winless streak and completed Team Penske's first-ever sweep of the Coca-Cola 600 and Indianapolis 500 last year in dominant fashion, leading a career-high 163 laps en route to the crown jewel victory. The win marked the eighth Cup Series triumph of his career and was the first for crew chief Jonathan Hassler. Of Joey Logano's 32 Cup Series victories, one came at Charlotte Motor Speedway during the fall of 2015 in the 400-mile event where he led 227-of-334 laps in what was the fourth of a season-best six wins that year. Austin Cindric makes just his third-career Cup Series start on the oval at Charlotte and posted three top-10 finishes in his four Xfinity Series starts here.
HONOR & REMEMBER: All three Team Penske Ford Mustangs will carry the names of fallen soldiers on the windshield banner and names of fallen PVA members above the right side window at Charlotte in honor of Memorial Day Weekend.
