February 27, 2015

Joey Logano earned his ninth-career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole position on Friday night, turning in the fastest lap in the final round of qualifying at Atlanta Motor Speedway for Sunday’s 500-mile event, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.  Logano’s lap of 28.477 seconds in the Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion was 0.131-seconds better than second-place qualifier Kevin Harvick’s best lap.  Logano, the Daytona 500 winner, was fastest in the first round and then turned in the second-best time in the second round before laying down the fastest lap of the day in the third and final round.  Brad Keselwoski, driver of the No. 2 Detroit Genuine Parts Ford Fusion, turned in the 12th-quickest lap in the final round of qualifying and will roll off from the outside of row six in Sunday’s event.

The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway will air live Sunday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
