THE RACE RECAP
Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion started the first of the two 60-lap Duel races at Daytona International Speedway from the 10th position. Keselowski made a strong charge towards the front early in the race, running as high as third for the first quarter of the event. An early caution set-up a full field pit stop cycle during which Keselowski lost a few spots. On the restart, Keselowski was mired mid pack and ran anywhere from fifth to 15th as the field shuffled positions lap after lap. Late in the race, as he was making a run for the front, Keselowski and teammate Joey Logano had a close call which resulted in Keselowski losing several positions. On the final restart, the 31 year old made a valiant effort to get back to the front, but had to settle for a 19th-place finish. Keselowski will start the Daytona 500 in the 38th position.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING
“You’re always learning out there. Good thing is, we didn’t tear our car up. I wanted to win the race and we kind of got shuffled a few times, which kept us from pulling that off. We needed a little bit of speed too, but it was a decent night – not great.”
