Keselowski Qualifies Seventh At Richmond
April 30, 2011
RICHMOND, Va. (April 29, 2011) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger team qualified seventh for the Crown Royal presents the Matthew and Daniel Hansen 400 at Richmond International Raceway (RIR).
Keselowski toured the .75-mile oval in 21.092 seconds, or 128.011 miles per hour. The starting spot will slightly improve his average starting position at RIR, which for his career was 7.7 entering this weekend and the best of any track on the schedule. Penske Racing teammate Kurt Busch will start from the 36th position in the No. 22 Shell/Penzoill Dodge.
"I feel pretty decent about the qualifying lap in our Miller Lite Dodge," said Keselowski. "Pit lane position is so important here and to run a fast lap and get a decent (starting) spot is cool. I missed it a little bit, but we were really close. I've been really happy with our short-track program all year and today's qualifying lap just keeps that going. We just need to get the finish we need out of it. We're running well on these short-tracks, we just need to get a better end result."
The Crown Royal presents the Matthew and Daniel Hansen 400 will air live at 7:30 p.m. ET on the FOX network on Saturday, April 30th. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 128.
