Porsche Penske Motorsport Takes 1-2 finish in Thrilling IMSA 12 Hours of Sebring

On Saturday evening, Porsche Penske Motorsport scored a sensational 1-2 finish in the IMSA 12 Hours of Sebring, with the No. 7 car clinching victory ahead of the No. 6 sister car for the team's second consecutive win.

After kicking off the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in style with victory at January's 24 Hours of Daytona, the team repeated the feat with a win in Saturday's race.

Once again, it was the No. 7 trio of Julien Andlauer, Felipe Nasr and Laurin Heinrich who took the top step of the podium, despite suffering damage early on. The trio battled back, fighting from the back of the GTP field to lead from around the four-hour mark for much of the race.

Though they lost the lead later on to the No. 6 car, a daring move with an hour left on the clock allowed the team to recapture the lead and score another win to extend their lead in the standings.

Behind, the No. 6 of Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor and Matt Campbell were second after a hard-fought race from all the drivers.

The win marked Porsche Penske Motorsport's second consecutive win at Sebring, with Nasr having also been part of last year's winning effort. It was the 20th win for Porsche and Team Penske's sixth at the iconic Floridian endurance race.

For the team, the unofficial "36 Hours of Florida" now has been made the "72 Hours of Florida" covering two different IMSA Championship seasons.

With the result, the Porsche Penske Motorsport became the first team to achieve consecutive overall victories at Daytona and Sebring for two years in a row.

The third round of the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 17-18. This 100-minute dash takes place on a 1.968 mile street circuit in downtown Long Beach.

LAURENS VANTHOOR THOUGHTS: "I think a brilliant day for Porsche, for Penske finishing 1-2. Julien and Laurin drove a really good race. The three of us also did our best. It was quite close."

JONATHAN DIUGUID THOUGHTS: "Just finished the 12 Hours of Sebring, 1-2 again for the second year in a row. It's quite an amazing roll the team's on - we won the 36 Hours of Florida again. The cars performed flawlessly today, we had a lot of pace. I think our biggest advantage was how well we kept the tires under the car over the stints against our competitors. I couldn't be happier to be in Victory Lane again."

FELIPE NASR THOUGHTS: "Just incredible to represent Porsche and Penske. I love winning for them. Took a big team effort, and both cars were strong all day. Just want to say my teammates, those guys are phenomenal. All day long, no mistakes, just a clean race, and here we are. Another dream start to the season."
