BACK IN ACTION AT 'DEGA: The NASCAR Cup Series returned to action this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, following the lone off weekend of the season. Drivers took to the 2.66-mile superspeedway for single-car qualifying on Saturday, with the session featuring two rounds to set the starting lineup for Sunday's Jack Link's 500. Talladega also kicks off an intense stretch to close out the year, as the Cup Series embarks on a 28-week run of consecutive races - the longest in series history - including the non-points All-Star Race.
Team Penske has recorded 11 total Cup Series victories at Talladega, with 10 of those coming in the last 21 events. Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney have contributed three wins apiece to that total, with Blaney delivering the organization's most recent triumph at the high-banked track in the fall of 2023.
HEAR FROM CINDRIC: "I definitely had a high-commitment lap there. A lot of pressure on one corner, with three and four being wide open. I felt like this would be a good shot for pole for us after practice with the strengths of the Dark Horse Ford Mustang. I don't know what the margin is, but I feel like I left a pole lap out there. I sent it into Turn 1 and didn't quite get to the bottom and didn't quite maximize my exit. I guess I can be happy with where we are at, but I definitely feel like you want to do it all. We are in a great spot for tomorrow and should have a good pit stall, so I feel good about where we are at for tomorrow. We will try to go get another one."
TUNE IN ON SUNDAY: Coverage of Sunday's Jack Link's 500 from Talladega Superspeedway kicks off at 3:00 p.m. ET on FOX, with live radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
