Logano and Hornish Qualify in the Top-10 at Charlotte

CONCORD, NC (May 25, 2013) – Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang, will start sixth in the History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon. Logano’s turned a lap of 29.619 seconds (182.315 mph) in the early morning qualifying session.
His Penske Racing teammate, Sam Hornish Jr., qualified seventh with the Snap-On Tools Ford Mustang. Hornish was just behind Logano, running a lap of 29.653 seconds (182.106 mph) around the 1.5-mile speedway.
“I think we have a pretty good Discount Tire Ford for today’s race,” said Logano. “The track always changes a lot depending on the sun and how warm it gets. So qualifying can be a little tricky. That’s why you sometimes see a lot of difference in times. But the race will be different and we will be pretty good. It’s time to get this Discount Tire team back in Victory Lane.”
The History 300 will air live at 2:45 p.m. ET on the ABC Network Saturday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
