Allgaier To Start 21st In Tonight's Event In Milwaukee

June 20, 2009

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (June 20, 2009) - Justin Allgaier, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger for Penske Racing, will start tonight's 250-mile event at the famed Milwaukee Mile in the 21st spot.

The No.12 team went out 17th to make their qualifying attempt on Saturday afternoon. Allgaier, pilot of the Verizon Wireless Dodge, ran a time of 30.018 seconds, only .505 of a second off the pole position. This is Allgaier's first NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the one-mile speedway. The Rookie-of-the-Year leader has three starts in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in Milwaukee with a best finish of fourth which came in 2006.

"This Penske Racing Dodge is capable of better laps than we posted," said driver Justin Allgaier following his qualifying effort. "I was really conservative on both laps. The car is tight through the turns, but drivable." After his crash in this morning's final practice, Allgaier is "ready to bring home a good run and a good finish for this Verizon Wireless crew that worked so hard to prepare our backup [car] today." 250 will be aired live tonight on ESPN 2 with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
