RACING IN OUR NATION'S CAPITAL: The Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C is the first American open-wheel race to be conducted inside the nation's capital city. In 2002, The American Le Mans Series (now IMSA) conducted the fifth round of the 2002 season on a street circuit around Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in the southeast district of the city. Benning Race Track on the east side of the city operated as a horse racing and automobile racing track through the 1910s.

THEY SAID IT: "I need a beer on myself, that run! But, the PPG Chevy, was good. Just struggling to get the tires up to temperature, like some of the other cars. We'll go to work on that.  I think we're in a good spot for tomorrow. To get Fast Six around here is great. We'll focus for tomorrow, and work on our race car."
