MARKHAM DEBUT: The Markham street circuit is the second of three new street courses to debut during the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season. The 12-turn, 2.19-mile circuit replaces the historic venue at Exhibition Place in Toronto that had hosted American open-wheel racing since 1986 where Danny Sullivan and Rick Mears finished second and eighth for Team Penske. Over 85 starts at Exhibition Place, Team Penske has five wins with drivers Paul Tracy, Will Power, Josef Newgarden and Simon Pagenaud.
Next weekend the series will race around the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for the highly anticipated Freedom 250, the third and final new street course of the year.
THEY SAID IT: "Really happy with that qualifying effort, for sure. This Gallagher Chevy team has done a great job all day. It's been a long day, and we knew qualifying was going to be chaotic. We dealt with those red flags as well as you could because they did come out at terrible times for us. Qualifying up front was always going to be key this weekend and we did that."
