Team Penske NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying Report - Dover

Würth 400 Qualifying - Dover Motor Speedway
Dover, DE - April 27, 2024

Known as the Monster Mile, Dover Motor Speedway, a one-mile concrete oval located in Dover, Delaware, is set to host its 106th NASCAR Cup Series race this weekend with the running of the Würth 400 on Sunday. Team Penske has found victory lane at the track on eight occasions.

HEAR FROM BLANEY: "We were close. I thought we had enough of a car for the pole and it was hard to tell how much the track was gonna slow down the second run. I made two laps the first round and I think that kind of hurt us. I think most guys in the top handful only made one lap and that helped them out, but I'm proud of the effort. I wish I could do my first lap over again. I think I could have hit it a little better, but we have a good car and we'll see what we have tomorrow."

MIC'D UP: Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano return to the NASCAR on FOX broadcast booth as guest analysts for Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Dover Motor Speedway. Coverage begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

RETURNING TO DOVER: Austin Cindric, Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano are still in search of their first NASCAR Cup Series triumph at Dover. In his 13th start at the one-mile track last season, Blaney scored his best finish at the facility, earning a podium finish in third. Logano, the 33-year-old driver who has been 27 starts at the Monster Mile, has finished in the top 10 in 55.6% of his starts, with a best finish of third on three different occasions. While Cindric, an admirer of the high-speed Delaware track, only has two Cup Series starts at Dover, he knows how to navigate the concrete oval, having finished inside the top 10 in all of his NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Dover, including a win in 2021.

RACE DAY: Coverage of Sunday afternoon's Würth 400 Cup Series race kicks off at 2:00 p.m. ET with coverage being carried on FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
