Recap:
- The highlight of Saturday's NTT INDYCAR SERIES activities at Barber Motorsports Park was the afternoon qualifying session for the 28 cars set to take the green flag in tomorrow's Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix.
- After a morning practice session that saw Team Penske place two cars in the top three positions, the team had high hopes for qualifying.
- The Team Penske trio started the time trials strong as all three easily moved onto the second round.
- Scott McLaughlin, who had shown plenty of speed so far, was the only one to make it out of round two and into the Firestone Fast Six.
- Will Power will start his No. 12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet in the 11th position, with Josef Newgarden rolling his No. 2 PPG Chevrolet off from the seventh spot.
- In a dramatic final round, McLaughlin, in the No. 3 Good Ranchers Chevrolet ended up as the last driver to take a time but was not able to move up higher than the fourth starting position for tomorrow's 90-lap event.
- Only twice has the race winner started outside the top five; Power, who started ninth and won in 2012 and Newgarden's seventh place starting position that he turned into a win in 2017.
What's Next - The green flag will drop on the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 pm ET. Coverage will begin at 3:45 pm ET on NBC, Peacock, Sirius XM Radio and INDYCAR Radio.
