Stremme Will Start The Brickyard 400 From the 21st Spot
July 25, 2009
SPEEDWAY, Ind. (July, 25, 2009) – Indiana native, David Stremme, will start tomorrow’s 400-mile event at the famed 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway from the 21st spot.
In Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session, Stremme was the ninth car to roll off to make a qualifying attempt. The driver of the No.12 Dodge Charger ran a time of 50.302 seconds which was good enough to put him on the inside of the 11th row for the start of Sunday afternoon’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. This will be Stremme’s third NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“The car was pretty good,” commented Stremme after qualifying. “I had a really good run getting into turn 1 but the car got a bit loose which hurt me coming out of turn two. We have a solid race car and have one more practice session to get it dialed in for tomorrow. This is a race I have had circled on the calendar all year. This is a very special place not only for me but for the entire Penske Racing organization. This is a great track with a rich history. I love coming here and am looking forward to tomorrow’s race.”
The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard can be seen live on tomorrow on ESPN with coverage beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The event can also be heard live on the IMS radio network as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
