Hornish Qualifies 23rd for Saturday's Ford EcoBoost 300

March 17, 2012

Bristol, Tenn. (March 17, 2012) - Sam Hornish, Jr., driver of the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger, qualified 23rd for Saturday’s Ford EcoBoost 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Hornish turned a lap of 15.917 seconds around the high-banked short-track at an average speed of 120.550 miles per hour. Penske Racing teammate, Brad Keselowski qualified seventh in the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge.

“Our Alliance Truck Parts Dodge was way too tight during our qualifying run, said Hornish. When the car is tight here at Bristol you really pay for it because you can’t get back to the throttle as fast as you need to and as close as the competition is here, a little difference makes a big difference. We just have to be smart and make good decisions in the race and we’ll have a good day.”

The Ford EcoBoost 300 coverage will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET on ESPN on Saturday, March 17. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
