No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger News and Notes
• This Week’s Challenger…
The Penske Racing Discount Tire Dodge Challenger team will use chassis PRS-205 during Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 at the 2.56-mile Talladega Superspeedway oval. This is a brand new chassis to the No. 22 fleet.
• The No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger in 2011... After six events, Brad Keselowski and the reigning champion No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger team sit 13th in the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) owner point standings. The team is coming off of a second-place finish in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 last Friday at Texas Motor Speedway.
• Can’t Keep a Good Keselowski Down... Due to inclement weather, the Cup Series and the Nationwide Series competed on the same day at Talladega one year ago. After an incident in the Cup race left Keselowski with elevated carbon monoxide levels, it was unclear if he would be released to compete in the Nationwide Series event that followed. However, his CO levels subsided just minutes before he jumped behind the wheel of the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge and he finished his day in Victory Lane with his first win as a member of Penske Racing.
• Keselowski Restrictor-Plate Stats… In 23 restrictor-plate starts in the Nationwide Series, Keselowski has accumulated one win, three top-five finishes, five top-10 results and one pole award. In addition, he has led the field for 109 laps at Talladega and Daytona International Speedway.
• New Commercial… Beginning last week, Keselowski has been featured in a new ESPN commercial that features the theme of veteran drivers competing against young guns in the NNS. The cinematography will remind viewers of the classic racing movies “Le Mans” and “Grand Prix.”
• See Brad on “Trackside Live” on SPEED… Keselowski will be a guest of the popular SPEED Channel show, “Trackside Live” from Talladega on Friday evening. The show will air at 7 pm ET.

Brad Keselowski on winning last year’s Nationwide Series race at Talladega
“Last year’s Nationwide Series race at Talladega was one of the most unique races I’ve ever been a part of. The gamut of emotions that I ran through was pretty insane. It went from thinking I wouldn’t be able to even compete, due to the carbon monoxide levels that I was showing following the Cup race, to winning my first race for Penske Racing. We were off to a great start to the season and I remember sitting in the infield care center thinking ‘Well, there goes the championship.’ I should still apologize to everyone in the care center that day because I was pretty upset. But everything worked out and we were able to go to Victory Lane. We took the points lead back that day and never looked back. That is definitely a race that I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Crew chief Todd Gordon on racing at Talladega Superspeedway
“We’re taking a new car to Talladega this weekend and we’re excited about its potential. We had a very fast Discount Tire Dodge Challenger at Daytona, but unfortunately that car was lost in a late-race incident. This car should be just as fast. You need a car that can push, but also doesn’t mind being pushed. If you can push you will usually find some drafting partners that will work with you all day. Pit road is an area that we need to focus on as well. Maintaining track position is important in order to stay in front of the wrecks, but you can also suffer damage on pit road that will take you out of contention. Brad runs well at Talladega – he’s the defending winner of this race – so if we can stay out of trouble I’m confident that we can contend for the win.”
