Joey Logano Leads Team Penske Qualifying at Phoenix

March 14, 2015

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion, qualified second for this weekend’s 500 at Phoenix International Raceway following Friday night’s qualifying session at the one-mile oval.  It was Logano’s second-straight second-place qualifying effort.  The 24-year-old driver has now qualified first or second in three of the four events this season.  Logano’s lap of 25.615 seconds around the Phoenix mile was just 0.038-seconds off the pace of pole sitter Kevin Harvick’s lap.  Logano’s teammate, Brad Keselowski, will start Sunday’s event in the sixth position.  Keselowski had to make two attempts to get his No. 2 Alliance Truck Parts Ford Fusion into the top-12 and through to the final round.  It didn’t deter him however, as he was able to lock up the sixth position in the final round.  It is Keselowski’s third-straight top-10 qualifying effort.
The 500 will air live Sunday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
