David Stremme Will Line Up 12th For Tomorrow Night's Race

September 11, 2009

RICHMOND, VA. (September 11, 2009) – Driver of the No. 12 Penske Dodge, David Stremme, will start tomorrow’s scheduled 400-lap event at the famed Richmond International Raceway from the 12th position.

Stremme drew the 17th position to make his two-lap qualifying run.  He rolled out on the .75-mile short track running a time of 21.469 seconds.  The time was good enough to line him up on the outside of the sixth row for the start of tomorrow night’s event.  This is the 33-year-old’s fourth top-20 starting spot in the last five NASCAR Cup Series races.

“The car was pretty good,” commented Stremme after his qualifying effort.  “We were just a bit loose on both ends of the track, but all-in-all it was a good day for the Penske Dodge.  I am confident we will have a solid car tomorrow night.  [Crew chief] Roy [McCauley] made some really solid changes to the car that I feel will really help us in the race.  I am ready to get going!”

The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 can be seen live on Saturday, September 12 on the ABC television network. Race coverage is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
