Stremme Lines Up 29th For Sunday's Race at Pocono Raceway

June 5, 2009

POCONO, PA. (June, 5, 2009) – David Stremme, driver of the No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger, will start Sunday’s 500-mile race at Pocono Raceway from the 29th spot.

All of Friday’s activities were cancelled due to persistent weather in the Pocono area.  With the cancellation of qualifying, the field was set by 2009 owner points per the NASCAR rule book. Currently 29th in the standings, the No. 12 team will line up on the inside of the 15th row for Sunday’s 200-lap event.

The No. 12 Penske Dodge will have two practice sessions tomorrow morning to dial their Dodge in for the 500-mile event on Sunday.

“I hate that we are not going to get to qualify,” commented Stremme on Friday afternoon.  “We feel like we brought a strong package up here and I feel confident we would have started close to the front.  I am so tired of the rain.  I feel like it has rained on us for months.  I am ready to get going and am looking forward to Sunday’s race.”

The Pocono 500 will be seen live on Sunday, June 7 on the TNT television network. Race coverage will begin at 12:30 pm EST. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
