Stremme Lines Up Third For Tomorrow Night's NASCAR Showdown

May 15, 2009

CONCORD, N.C. (May 15, 2009) – David Stremme driver of the No.12 Penske Dodge Charger, secured the third starting position for tomorrow night’s 40-lap NASCAR Showdown at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Qualifying was cancelled due to weather in the area, and the field was set by the qualifying draw which put Stremme on the inside of the second row.

“It is nice to start up front,” commented driver David Stremme.  “In practice, our car was a bit tight and worked to loosen it up.  We hit on something towards the end of practice which really helped the car turn.  I felt like we would qualify in the top-ten, but third is great.  We know what we have to do to get our Penske Dodge into the main event.  I feel like [crew chief] Roy [McCauley] made some great changes today that will help us tomorrow night.  We just need to get out front early and stay there.  I am looking forward to tomorrow.  It is a fun night of racing and should be a great show for the fans.”

The NASCAR All-Star Showdown can be seen live tomorrow on SPEED. Race coverage is scheduled to begin at 7 pm ET. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
