No.12 Dodge Lines Up 32nd For Sunday's 500-Mile Race

April 3, 2009

Ft. Worth, TX. (April, 3, 2009) – David Stremme, driver of the No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger, will start Sunday’s race at the Texas Motor Speedway in the 32nd spot.

Stremme and the No.12 Penske Dodge Charger team had an hour and a half practice session on Friday to get their car dialed in.  The team was confident they had a strong car and it showed on the speed chart.  Stremme radioed to crew chief Roy McCauley explaining the car was just a little snug in the center of both corners.  The No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger crew went to work making a couple of small adjustments to the front end geometry to help the car rotate through the banked turns.  By the end of practice, Stremme felt like he had a car capable of running up front on Sunday afternoon finishing up eighth on the timing and scoring monitor.

In the afternoon qualifying session, Stremme was the 23rd car to roll off to make a qualifying attempt at the Great American Speedway.  He wheeled his Dodge around the Texas Motor Speedway running a time of 28.801 seconds which put him on the outside of the 16th row for the start of Sunday’s 500-mile showdown.

“The car was just a bit tight through both turns one and two as well as three and four,” commented driver David Stremme.  “We know what we have to do on Sunday to get our car to the front.  I feel like we have a really good car and have two practices tomorrow to get our Penske Dodge Charger dialed in for the race.”

The Samsung 500 will be seen live on Sunday, April 5th on the FOX television network. Race coverage is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm EST. The event can also be heard live on PRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
